Over the last four weeks your hockey club has been very active in supporting the development of school hockey at Grove Academy and its cluster primary schools.

Just before the October holidays a primary school hockey festival was held at Grove Academy's large sports hall.

With 35 youths from Barnhill, Eastern and Forthill forming nine 4 aside hockey teams.

Who played non stop hockey matches for over an hour.

A big thanks to all the Grove Academy pupils who umpired and coached the matches and teams during this festival

Without their support the youths would not have played

The next primary school hockey festival is on Wednesday 3 December at Grove Academy.

After the holidays on 29 October a boys Grove Academy hockey team participated in the senior Aspire Cup at High School of Dundee

Playing 5 matches the boys won one match, drew three matches and only lost one match 1-0 to the final winners Aberdeen Grammar.

A big thank you to Brian McGarrity who organised this team and played so well.

On 5 November a mixed junior Grove Academy hockey team participated in the North Area Junior Aspire Cup at Dawson Park.

The team playing in their first ever Aspire cup beat Perth Academy 5-1, drew 2-2 with Crieff Academy and lost 3-1 to eventual winners Kinross High School

Finally during this time High School of Dundee and Grove Academy u14 hockey teams have played 3 outdoor matches at Dalnacraig and 3 indoor matches at Grove Academy.

With more indoor matches planned on 19 November

It certainly has been a very busy time.

Grove Academy sports hall has plenty of space for parents to watch if they would like to come along.
