Friday 25 September was a fantastic evening for the future of youth hockey at Grove Menzieshill, with 19 of our young players successfully completing their Hockey Leaders coaching course.
The course was led by Oliver James, who was delighted with the response from the club's young players. He told Youth Coordinator Harry Byers that it had been a "very good turnout by the young players of the club."
Harry has been hugely impressed by the enthusiasm and commitment shown by our young leaders. Their willingness to develop their own coaching skills and, importantly, give something back to the younger players in the club is fantastic to see.
These young coaches will now have the opportunity to bring their own ideas, energy and enthusiasm into sessions with our younger age groups. Their involvement will not only help develop the next generation of players but will also give them valuable experience and confidence as coaches.
It is particularly encouraging to see our young players stepping forward and taking on leadership roles within the club. They are the future of Grove Menzieshill, both on and off the pitch.
A big thank you to Oliver James for delivering the course and to all 19 young leaders for giving up their time to take part.
We are looking forward to seeing them put their new skills into practice over the coming weeks!
Certificates and a group photograph will follow once the certificates arrive.
And a special mention to wee Logan, pictured at the front, who was proudly representing his dad Darren "Dom", who has also offered his time to help with our youth section.
Well done to everyone involved — a great investment in the future of our club!
