On Sunday our u16 girls team had a very early departure to play in the Scottish Cup in Glasgow.

A 0615am departure while the morning frost was turning Dundee white was concerning.

As we had a 0900am push back versus Clydesdale Western at High School of Glasgow.

Thankfully the weather in Glasgow was not as wintry as Dundee

Bright and breezy the girls quickly got into their rhythm with two early short corner goals from u16 Scotland internationalist Lily Bonnar

After 30 minutes this was the result.

With only 30 minute rest the girls were back on for another match versus Fjordhus Reivers from the borders

The girls were in sparking form now and registered an 8-1 win to set up a pool decider versus Grange Edinburgh.

With a blistering tomahawk drive from Maia Swejkowska opened the scoring then a Freya Melville goal and a hat trick of goals from Scotland internationalist Anna Green

The goals kept coming with an amazing full pitch dribble by Sophie Barrie.

This was then followed by a clever back post goal by Eesha Prasad.

Then India Tulloch scored her first goal for the club being on the end of a multi pass team move down the left side of the pitch

The girls then had another short break before they faced Grange Edinburgh who had had very similar results against Western and Reivers.

We. sadly concede two early short corners and as much as the girls battled they were unable to score, striking several short corners which one hit the bar and another scraped the post we could not score

The final result was 3-0

Our team of young girls aged from 12 to 15 performed very well and they should not be disappointed by their performance considering the absurd match schedule they had to play.
Many of them for the first time experienced having to play in different positions over three matches in a very short time, as coach Gill Green endeavoured to open the opposition defences to score goals.

Club coaches Luke Cranney, Audrey Sime and Harry Byers will be delighted with the girls endeavours.

The Club would like to thank all the parents who transported the girls to Glasgow and provided great pitch side support.
