Men's 3s at the double over Wanderers

A sunny but cold afternoon at Dalnacraig with a later push back at 1530hrs gave the opposition, Wanderers 3's, the advantage of playing the first half with their backs to the sun.

The first goal for Grove came in the second quarter with a cross from Edward Cooper to the waiting Grove forwards, 2 shots were defended by the Wanderers Goalkeeper, the third shot from LIAM STUART finding the net.

Grove’s hard work was again rewarded by SHAAN AFZAL scoring in the third quarter. This was shortly followed by a cross from Brian McGarrity, narrowly missed by Angus Anderson at the back post. A couple of minutes later ANGUS ANDERSON was back, scoring his first goal for the club in a League match, finishing a cross from Shaan Afzal.

With both teams tiring in the 4th quarter the Mens 3’s stuck to moving the ball around, focusing on working as a team and were rewarded by ALISTAIR CLARK scoring from in front of the goal.

Although the Grove goalkeepers (Xander Swan and Brendan Hawley) weren’t troubled too much during the match, Brendan made a save half way through the quarter. With minutes to the whistle Wanderers came back to score their first goal of the game.
